Cairo, ## Feb 2025 – As a part of the pioneering real estate company, Melee’s efforts to speared the concept of Egyptian social sports clubs, Mr. Gasser Bahgat, the Chairman & CEO of Melee participated in the activities of the World Stadiums and Arena Development Summit, the platform for industry leaders to drive the evolution of sports venues. The summit’s activities witnessed the presence of a group of experts and government officials.
The participation highlighted Melee’s interest in the field of social and sports clubs. Mr. Gasser Bahgat’s presentation, titled “Between Heritage and Contemporary – An Egyptian Take on the Future of Social & Sports Clubs in the Kingdom”, exploring the potential for Saudi Arabia to develop a new generation of social and sports clubs inspired by the rich history and evolving landscape of the Egyptian social sports clubs, have served as vital community hubs for decades, evolving from exclusive athletic spaces into multi-generational meeting points that define lifestyle, status, and social interaction. The presentation also examined this evolution, highlighting the clubs’ crucial role in shaping Egyptian society and culture.
In this context, Bahgat stated: “Over the years, Egyptian social sports clubs have been at the heart of our communities, evolving into dynamic social hubs that reflect our culture and values. The main goal of this partnership is to create a specialized corporation that will be responsible for the management, development, and operation of social sports clubs in Saudi Arabia. The objective is to broaden the Egyptian experience and expertise in this field throughout the Kingdom in response to the growing demand for high-quality recreational facilities. The World Stadiums and Arena Development Summit serves as the premier event to drive the evolution of sports venues, dedicated to the construction of new stadiums and arenas, the renewing of existing sports infrastructure, and innovative solutions. The 2025 summit featured insightful discussions and presentations from a diverse range of specialists and experts. Government officials also played a key role, Basim K. Ibrahim inaugurating the summit as a Sport Sector Investment Development Director at the Saudi Ministry of Investment and with Alwaleed Alkeaid delivering an opening VIP keynote on aligning Saudi Vision 2030 with stadium development.
